What is a pizza stone?
A pizza stone is a piece of stone of ceramic – the Emile Henry pizza stone is ceramic – that can be placed in an oven, where it will heat up and become a very hot surface. This creates a perfect cooking environment for pizza.
Pizza stones have become incredibly popular with ‘za fans who want the authentic pizza experience but don’t want the expense or inconvenience of installing a pizza oven.
If you’re looking to take your pizza making skills to the next level, using a pizza stone is probably the easiest improvement you can make to your process. It’s no surprise they are becoming increasingly popular.

Retains heat well and wipes clean easily. The handles are a good size and easy to grab when hot with mitts.

Really nice quality pizza stone – I’ve used it in the oven and on the bbq – makes a great pizza, looks fab and is really easy to clean. Thanks!

Bought this to go with a round fan assisted barbecue. It took a while to find one that was large enough in diameter to suit the diameter of the barbecue. This one fits nicely and we cooked a couple of pizzas on it which came out perfectly with a crusty base and a melted cheese topping. Very pleased with the purchase and expecting to use it many more times. It’s easy to clean but obviously have to be careful not to drop it. I did consider other options but the reports often had problems with cracking for no significant reasons.
