What is Type 00 Flour?

Type 00 is a grade given to flour, by Italian millers. The zero value is a reference to the coarseness of the flour.

  • 0 rated flour  is fairly coarse.
  • A 00 rating is given to medium to light bread flour.
  • 000 is given to very fine flour, similar to that of corn flour.
